The Grants Pass City Council is being asked to approve pay raises that would boost the salaries of the city manager and several department heads above the salaries offered in eight comparable cities — with threats of lawsuits if councilors don't comply.

Grants Pass junior Carson Krauss fired a round of 72 and the Cavemen rolled to a win at Monday's Southwest Conference boys' golf tournament at Eugene Country Club.
Brevik Hill followed up Krauss' round with a 73 to bolster Grants Pass. Trey Alderson carded an 80 for the Cavemen.
Grants Pass won with 312 total strokes. South Medford was second with 323 and Sheldon finished third with 329. North Medford (339) was fourth and Roseburg (352) placed fifth.
A Medford woman who was caught with dealer quantities of dope three times last year, and once with a pink AR-15 and a pipe bomb, was sentenced to just over six years in prison last week.
Brandy Lee Crenshaw, 45, also was placed on three years of post-prison supervision for her guilty pleas in Jackson County Circuit Court to four drug trafficking charges and two felony weapons charges. Read More »
Drummer Jason Bonham will lead his band in a Led Zeppelin Evening at the Britt Music & Arts Festival Aug. 26. Bonham had to cancel a planned Britt show in 2024. It was one of a handful of final concerts announced Friday for the schedule, along with children's concerts.
