A 30-year-old man is in custody on a murder charge in the bludgeoning death of another man last month, according to Grants Pass police.

Grants Pass took advantage of a breakdown in Willamette pitching to grab a come-from-behind walk-off 5-4 win in the opening game of a scheduled Southwest Conference baseball doubleheader Friday at George Russell Field.
The nightcap was called due to darkness in the 11th inning. The game will be completed when the sixth-ranked Cavemen visit the Wolverines on May 6.
Grants Pass (7-2, 4-0) trailed 4-1 going into the final inning of the first game.

A 37-year-old man who police said had a concealed weapon (nunchuck) and a loaded syringe was arrested near Sixth and M streets at 2:33 p.m. Saturday. He was jailed on a warrant and new charges of carrying a concealed knife and methamphetamine possession.

Drummer Jason Bonham will lead his band in a Led Zeppelin Evening at the Britt Music & Arts Festival Aug. 26. Bonham had to cancel a planned Britt show in 2024. It was one of a handful of final concerts announced Friday for the schedule, along with children's concerts.
