In what could be a major boost to attract funding to restore the Oregon Caves Chateau, the National Trust for Historic Preservation named the 1933 hotel at the Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve to its list of the 11 Most Endangered Historic Places in 2025.
Today's announcement marks the first time an Oregon site has been named to the annual Top 11 list since the program began in 1988, according to the National Trust.

Senior pitcher Dane Kissel threw a one-hit shutout as third-ranked North Valley crushed Rogue River 17-0 in a District 7 baseball game Tuesday in Merlin.
Kissel was dominant for the Knights, striking out 12 Chieftains in his five-inning complete game.
After building a 6-0 lead, North Valley (13-7, 8-2) put the game away with an 11-run fourth inning in which the Knights sent 17 hitters to the plate. Read More »
A man faces a felony assault charge after he was accused of roughing up a 10-year-old neighbor boy in Central Point.
