Gamco provides investment management and advisory services to individual and institutional investors. The company has three subsidiaries: Gamco Asset Management (41% of AUM), a manager of separate accounts; Gabelli Funds (58%), which runs open- and closed-end mutual funds; and Gabelli Securities (1%), an advisor to limited partnerships and offshore funds. At the end of the second quarter of 2009, Gamco had slightly more than $21 billion in AUM, with 92% invested in equities.
