Marathon Oil is an integrated energy company with exploration and production activities in the United States, Angola, Indonesia, and Norway. The company also operates seven refineries throughout the U.S., an oil sands mining operation in Canada, and liquefied natural gas facilities in Africa. Production for 2008 was 380,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day and proved year-end reserves stood at 1.2 billion barrel of oil equivalent, 53% of which were oil.
