Afton Chemical is a subsidiary that manufactures additives used in gasoline, heating oil, and other fuels to improve performance, and as a lubricant in motor oil, fluids, and grease. Its Ethyl subsidiary makes gasoline additives that contain intake-valve-deposit detergent, which must be added to all unleaded gasoline sold in the United States. The companies have production facilities in the United States and abroad.
