Man shot to death while questioned in Boston probe

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A Chechen immigrant was shot to death by authorities while being questioned in the Boston Marathon bombing investigation early Wednesday after he lunged at an FBI agent with a knife, officials said. Ibragim Todashev, a 27-year-old mixed martial arts fighter, was gunned down at his Orlando home during a meeting with the agent and two Massachusetts state troopers, authorities said. The agent was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Cameron: 'Indications' London attack terror

LONDON (AP) - A brazen, brutal attack near a military barracks in London on Wednesday afternoon left one man dead and two suspects in the hospital. British Prime Minister David Cameron said the attack appeared to be terror-related. The attack occurred in the southeast London neighborhood of Woolwich, just a few blocks from the Royal Artillery Barracks.

Oklahoma tornado damage could top $2 billion

MOORE, Okla. (AP) - The tornado that tore through an Oklahoma City suburb destroyed or damaged as many as 13,000 homes and may have caused $2 billion in overall damage, officials said Wednesday. State authorities meanwhile said two infants were among the 24 people who perished in the twister.

Key House chairman slams Senate immigration bill

WASHINGTON (AP) - A key House committee chairman says a wide-ranging immigration bill just passed by a Senate committee falls far short of what is needed to end the problem of illegal immigration. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte also says the bill is unlikely to secure the border and may just repeat mistakes made in 1986, the last time Congress passed a sweeping immigration bill.

Median CEO pay rises to $9.7 million in 2012

CEO pay has been going in one direction for the past three years: up. The head of a typical large public company made $9.7 million in 2012, a 6.5 percent increase from a year earlier that was aided by a rising stock market, according to an analysis by The Associated Press using data from Equilar, an executive pay research firm.

Syrian opposition urges rebels to join key battle

BEIRUT (AP) - Syria's main opposition alliance on Wednesday urged fighters from around the country to reinforce a rebel-held town under attack by President Bashar Assad's troops and their allies from the Lebanese militant Hezbollah group. Arias jury deadlocked but must continue

PHOENIX (AP) - Jurors in the Jodi Arias murder trial told the judge Wednesday that they are unable to reach a unanimous verdict on whether the convicted murderer should be get life or death for killing her boyfriend, prompting the judge to send them back to the deliberation room to work through their differences. The jury reported its impasse after only about two and a half hours of deliberations that began Tuesday afternoon.
