DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Of all the messages posted regarding Jeff Gordon's announcement Thursday, fellow NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin's tribute had to be the coolest.

Hamlin posted a picture on Twitter of his Jeff Gordon Racing National Fan Club member card. It had Hamlin's name, identification number and expiration date (12/95). Hamlin turned 15 in November of that year.

The card was laminated and had Gordon's signature across the bottom.

Hamlin added a message to the post, tweeting "Was a fan in 95, still a fan today (at)JeffGordonWeb."

The 43-year-old Gordon announced Thursday that 2015 would be his final season as a full-time driver in NASCAR. His 92 wins trail only Hall of Fame drivers Richard Petty (200) and David Pearson (105).
