NORWALK, Ohio (AP) -- Doug Kalitta set a track elapsed-time record and raced to the Top Fuel qualifying lead Friday in the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals.

Kalitta had a pass of 3.719 seconds at 327.51 mph during the last qualifying session of the day. He has two No. 1 qualifying positions this year and is the season leader. His Kalitta Motorsports team is based in nearby Ypsilanti, Michigan.

"It is great to perform in front of our family and friends here and we have them all this weekend," Kalitta said. "That is the funnest thing, getting everyone here and rooting us on. We are pretty proud of that run. It is one of those Friday night runs you dream about having."

Kalitta Motorsports teammate Del Worsham topped the Funny Car field, Greg Anderson took the Pro Stock lead, and Eddie Krawiec was the fastest in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Worsham had a run of 3.875 at 328.70 to break the track time and speed marks. Anderson ran a 6.565 at 211.26 in a Chevrolet Camaro, and Krawiec had a 6.822 at 195.31 on a Harley-Davidson.
