Coroner: Boulder homeless man died of hypothermia

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a homeless man whose body was found behind a shopping center in Boulder died of hypothermia.

Officers were called to the Arapahoe Village shopping center the morning of Sept. 13 after someone spotted the body under some evergreen bushes. Boulder County Coroner Emma Hall identified the victim as 52-year-old Paul Klavoon.

The Daily Camera reports ( http://bit.ly/13K07X4 ) he is one of eight homeless people to die outside in Boulder in 2014.

Klavoon so far is the only one of those eight deaths ruled to be due to environmental causes. Four were ruled to be the result of drug or alcohol use and two causes of death were ruled "undetermined." An eighth death has yet to be ruled on by the coroner's office.
