Governor schedules execution for man convicted of 2 murders

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- A man convicted of killing two people in Florida is schedule to die.

Gov. Rick Scott signed a death warrant Friday for 52-year-old Patrick C. Hannon. The execution is set for Nov. 8.

Authorities say Hannon and two other men went to the Tampa apartment of 27-year-old Brandon Snider and 28-year-old Robert Carter in January 1991. One of the other men stabbed Snider several times when he answered the door, and then Hannon cut Snider's throat. Carter, who also lived in the apartment, tried to hide, but Hannon followed and fatally shot Carter.

Authorities believe revenge was the motive for the killings. Investigators say Snider had returned home to Indiana shortly before he was killed and threatened his ex-girlfriend, who was the sister of one of the men with Hannon.
