Trials set for father of slain Iowa girl | |||||
WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) -- Trials have been scheduled for the father of one of two slain cousins who went missing in Evansdale. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports ( http://bit.ly/13lVw5i ) 36-year-old Daniel Eugene Morrissey is awaiting trials for misdemeanor domestic assault and drug charges. They're unrelated to the disappearance of his daughter, Lyric Cook. The trials are scheduled for July 8 in Davenport. The newspaper reports it's unclear which trial will proceed first. Morrissey has had his trials delayed several times. He remains in custody at the Black Hawk County Jail. Lyric disappeared with her cousin, Elizabeth Collins, while riding bikes in Evansdale last July. Hunters found their bodies in a remote, wooded area in December. --- Information from: Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, http://www.wcfcourier.com © 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
