CAIRO (AP) -- Seven members of Egypt's security forces kidnapped by suspected militants have appeared in a video posted on the Internet, urging the government to secure their release by meeting their captors' demands.

The six policemen and one border guard were abducted on Thursday as they traveled from posts in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula to Cairo.

In a video posted Sunday on YouTube, the men are shown blindfolded with their hands tied behind their backs. They tell the camera that they have been tortured, and ask President Mohammed Morsi and his defense minister to agree to the kidnappers' demands and release jailed militants.

A security official speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media identified the captives in the video as the missing security personnel.
