SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Christian County Assessor Sandra Bryant-Littles has pleaded not guilty to mail fraud for allegedly failing to assess her own property.

Prosecutors say 50-year-old Bryant-Littles, of Clever, filed personal property tax assessments for herself and for her husband's Poco Cala Ranch that did not include some property for which they owed property taxes.

Bryant-Littles pleaded Monday alongside her husband, Lonnie Littles, who also pleaded not guilty to separate charges.

The state Attorney General's office has asked the U.S. Attorney's Office for information that it would need to remove Bryant-Littles from office. Spokeswoman Nanci Gonder said Monday the state Attorney General's office has not received the information needed to make a decision.
