Man already in jail charged with killing woman whose bones were found on Fayetteville track
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Investigators say they have charged a man with killing a woman whose skeletal remains were found near a railroad track in Fayetteville last month.
A first-degree murder warrant was presented Friday to 38-year-old Pierre Lowe, who is in the Cumberland County Detention Center on unrelated charges.
Someone walking along the tracks Nov. 15 found a skull and bones that belonged to 39-year-old Marcella Thompson. She had been last seen two months earlier.
Police say Lowe was driving Thompson's car when he led them on a chase that ended with him crashing the vehicle.
It wasn't known if Lowe has a lawyer.
