CLARKTON, N.C. (AP) -- Three women have died in a wreck in Bladen County.

The Fayetteville Observer reported (http://bit.ly/11d0KjP ) that The North Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened shortly after 8 a.m. Monday about a mile north of Clarkton.

Trooper J.P. Weissinger says 48-year-old Lynette Holt Chavez of Clarkton was driving an SUV that crossed the centerline of a highway.

Chavez's vehicle hit a car driven by 53-year-old Rosaland Rouse Monroe of Clarkton.

Monroe's daughter, 33-year-old Crystal Renee Monroe, also died in the wreck.

Weissinger says all three women died at the scene.
