Davidson County man sentenced for killing 3 people in 2011

LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- A 45-year-old Davidson County man has been sentenced to more than 62 years in prison for killing three people in November 2011.

The Dispatch of Lexington reports Friday ( ) that Carl Kennedy pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree murder and burglary. He is convicted of killing 61-year-old Sharon Rushing, 52-year-old Gary Seward and 43-year-old Angela Soles at their home in Thomasville.

Authorities believe the three were killed the morning of Nov. 7, 2011. Their bodies were found three days later.

Prosecutors initially charged Kennedy and two others with first-degree murder. A fourth person was charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
