Bronx fire: Baby tossed to safety from 2nd floor
NEW YORK (AP) -- Authorities say a baby was tossed to safety from a burning second-floor apartment in the Bronx.
They say the infant was caught by bystanders on the street. The child was not injured.
The fire erupted just before 7 a.m. Wednesday at the two-story building at 870 East 220th St. It was brought under control about 50 minutes later.
Fire officials say three people, including two children, suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
