5 NY teens arraigned in series of robberies that culminated in killing of cab driver

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Five Buffalo teenagers are accused of taking part in a series of gunpoint robberies that culminated in the shooting death of a taxi driver in March.

Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita III said Thursday that the group robbed several cabbies and pizza delivery drivers over a three-month period.

Two of the teens are charged with second-degree murder in the death of Mazen Abdallah, who was found dead in the back of his cab.

One of the teens, 17-year-old Maurice Howie, was arrested in April. The arrest of the second teen, 16-year-old Sean Austin, was disclosed Thursday.

The other three teens are charged with robbery.

All pleaded not guilty in state Supreme Court.
