OREVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- Authorities say a southeast Ohio married couple who died in an apparent murder-suicide last weekend weren't strangers to sheriff's deputies in their rural county.
Records show that deputies had investigated three domestic violence reports since 2005 at the home of 47-year-old Kevin Buckley and his wife, 49-year-old Tammy Buckley. The investigations were closed and no one was prosecuted.
The Hocking County Sheriff's Office said Kevin Buckley killed his wife with a shotgun Saturday night before turning the weapon on himself at their Oreville home, about 70 miles southeast of Columbus.
The Columbus Dispatch ( http://bit.ly/17oQPyf ) reports that sheriff's detective Ed Downs said Kevin Buckley called a friend Saturday night and told her he killed his wife, adding "I couldn't take her mouth anymore."
They'd been married 19 years.
