2 teens hurt in shooting at Pittsburgh park basketball court
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Two 16-year-olds were wounded, one critically, when shots were fired after two groups of young men argued on a basketball court at a Pittsburgh park.
Police aren't releasing the names of the victims, but say the boy shot three times Tuesday evening was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in critical condition. The other teen wounded was a girl whose knee was grazed by a bullet.
Police say the incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. in West Park on the city's North Side, near The National Aviary.
A youth football team and its cheerleaders were practicing nearby, but none of them were hurt.
Police say the young men were playing basketball before the fight broke out, but they couldn't immediately say whether the dispute was about the game or something else.
