Police: Philadelphia man, 34, charged in fatal hit-and-run
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A 34-year-old man has been charged in what police are calling a hit-and-run that left a 40-year-old woman dead and six other people injured in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (http://bit.ly/2acHvRW) George McGoldrick has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, homicide by vehicle and DUI in the crash that killed Suryani Tjung on Friday night.
Investigators say the south Philadelphia man drove his car onto a curb after his car was hit by another vehicle and struck three pedestrians before fleeing the scene.
Police didn't immediately identify a 28-year-old woman who was with McGoldrick.
McGoldrick is accused of abandoning his car and telling a family member he had been in a crash. Police say that person called 911 and he was arrested.
It's unclear if he has an attorney.
