Man gets life without parole in NE Pa. slaying
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) -- A 20-year-old northeastern Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the fatal beating and robbing of a man over an iPhone.
Breon Judon of Hazleton was sentenced Monday in Luzerne County Court. A jury convicted him in October of second-degree murder and related charges.
Prosecutors said Judon and another man stole an iPhone belonging to 29-year-old Aaron Reznick of Ebervale in August 2012, tossed him into the trunk of a car, then beat and stomped on his head when he tried to escape.
Reznick was found unconscious and badly battered in the middle of a street in Hazleton. He died 10 days later.
Judon's co-defendant, 18-year-old Mitchell Dedes, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and received a 25- to 50-year prison sentence.
