Police: Pregnant woman, man wounded in Philadelphia shooting
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Police say a 23-year-old pregnant woman and a 21-year-old man are hospitalized after a shooting in Philadelphia's Frankford section.
Chief Inspector Scott Small says the shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday in front of a home on Paul Street.
Police say 11 shots were fired in the direction of the victims from the intersection of Paul and Womrath streets. They say two male suspects fled in a white Cadillac.
The woman, who is eight months pregnant, was struck in the upper left thigh. The man was shot in the back.
Small says both were taken to Temple University Hospital. The woman is listed in stable condition. The man is in critical condition. They are both expected to survive.
