48-DAY MANHUNT ENDS

State police have found a man believed to have killed one trooper and fatally wounded another outside their barracks in the Poconos on Sept. 12. Federal marshals placed the handcuffs belonging to the slain trooper, Cpl. Bryon Dickson, on the wrists of 31-year-old Eric Frein after he surrendered near an abandoned airport hangar Thursday night.

RETURN TO NORMALCY: MANHUNT'S END MEANS KIDS CAN CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN

Barrett Township supervisors immediately started getting the word out that the hundreds of children in town can go trick-or-treating Friday night, now that fugitive Frein is in custody. Officials say everyone in the Pocono Mountain community of some 4,100 was relieved and eager to get back to normal.

The school immediately suspended the players Thursday and told the state athletic conference the Division II football team won't play Saturday against Gannon University. Police say the players attacked a man around 2 a.m. Thursday, after he tried to stop an argument between his girlfriend and a player. Police say the players yelled "football strong" as they fled in a car.
