LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Spirit Airlines is launching new flights between Las Vegas and Houston.

The budget airline says daily nonstop service starts Oct. 4 between Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport.

Spirit is known for offering low base fares and charging fees for bringing luggage or using other services.

For the first month of service, a Houston-bound flight will leave Las Vegas at 10:30 a.m. and arrive at 3:35 p.m. Central time.
