CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Charlottesville Albemarle Airport has completed two projects aimed at improving passenger service.

The airport's runway has been extended by 800 feet to 6,801 feet. Airport officials tell media outlets that the runway extension will expand passenger and operational capacity.

The airport also is adding a second security screening line during early mornings when passenger traffic is heavy.
