The Buenos Aires, Argentina-based bank said it had earnings of 52 cents per share.

The financial holding company posted revenue of $967.9 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $649.1 million, topping Street forecasts.

Banco BBVA shares have more than tripled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $17.57, more than tripling in the last 12 months.
