Counting Bears as They Hibernate

As part of an ongoing effort to track the state's black bear population, the Pennsylvania Game Commission sets out each March to tag, weigh and check the animals' vital signs. In order to do this, biologists like Mark Ternent must locate the inconspicuous dens - some located in the middle of neighborhoods - and pull the hibernating bears out.
