FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Bell County's Pineville Community Health Center is the first health care facility to be approved for funding through the Kentucky Rural Hospital Loan Program, Gov. Andy Beshear said.
The eastern Kentucky hospital will receive a $1 million loan that will go toward medical equipment, supplies and hiring staff, Beshear's office said Wednesday.
The Rural Hospital Loan Program will provide a total of $20 million in low-interest loans to assist rural hospitals throughout the state, many of which have struggled during the pandemic. Eligible hospitals can receive a loan amount ranging from $25,000 to $1 million per hospital facility with a 1% fixed interest rate.
