LIBERTY, S.C. (AP) — Law officers are searching for a driver suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a moped driver in the Upstate.
The collision happened early Wednesday morning on U.S. 178 in Pickens County, WYFF-TV reported.
The moped driver was heading east on the highway when a vehicle crashed into the rear of the scooter, state troopers said.
The vehicle left the scene, and the moped driver died there, authorities said.
The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to call South Carolina Highway Patrol.
