Push sends woman onto Manhattan subway tracks

NEW YORK (AP) — A woman waiting on a Manhattan subway platform on Friday was pushed to the subway tracks without warning by a man who approached her from behind, police said.

The New York Police Department said the 28-year-old woman made it off the tracks with only minor injuries after being shoved around 9:30 a.m. at the 42 Street-Times Square subway station.

Authorities said the man fled. Later Friday, police had taken someone into custody but no arrest had yet been announced.

The incident came as police are still looking for the suspect from a separate subway incident in Brooklyn on Monday.

Authorities said a man got into a confrontation with a family, leading to a 73-year-old woman being knocked onto the tracks. She was helped up before the next train.
