More Than 80 Animals Rescued From Fairfield Home

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — More than 80 animals have been rescued from a home in Fairfield.

Police said they received a call from fire department personnel Saturday morning who were assisting the home’s resident who was suffering a medical emergency.

They arrived to find the home filled with animal waste and more than 80 cats, chicken, geese, turkeys and ducks.

Animal control officers from Fairfield, Westport, Bridgeport and Trumbull removed the animals from the home and brought them to animal shelters for evaluation.

The home’s resident was taken to a hospital for treatment.
