Sequim man gets 5 years for child porn images, videos

PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — A Sequim man has been sentenced to five years in prison after federal agents discovered over 8,400 images and videos of child pornography on his computers.

The Peninsula Daily News reports 40-year-old William Daracunas pleaded guilty in September to dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and two counts of possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Prosecutors dismissed one count of dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and three counts of possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct in a plea deal.

Prosecutors say Daracunas was viewing and sharing the images.

Court records say the investigation started in January 2018, when an agent downloaded images of child sex abuse.

The agent determined the images were sent from a computer in a home in Sequim associated with Daracunas.
