RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. (AP) — Human remains found in a large plastic container left on a New Jersey street earlier this month have been identified as those of a New York City woman, authorities said.
The Bergen County prosecutor’s office said the remains found Aug. 13 in Ridgefield Park in what NorthJersey.com reported appeared to be a barrel were those of 42-year-old Nicole Flanagan.
Det. Hubert Reyes of the New York City police department said Friday the Bronx resident was last seen outside an apartment building in Manhattan's financial district. Reyes said the medical examiner's office is trying to determine a cause and time of death.
An obituary for Flanagan said she was originally a native of Greenwich, Connecticut, and a memorial service was scheduled for Thursday.
