Carjacking in Henderson leads to police pursuit and shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A carjacking in Henderson led to a pursuit early Sunday, then a shootout involving police officers, authorities said.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, an armed suspect stole a car at around 5:30 a.m.

Henderson police pursued and the suspect opened fire at officers, who returned fire.

Police say nobody was hit.

The pursuit ended and police said the suspect is in custody.

Police said more details about the incident should be released later Sunday.
