Small Plane Forced To Belly Land At Waterbury Airport

WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) — A single-engine plan was damaged Saturday when it skidded to a landing on its belly at Waterbury-Oxford Airport.

State police said nobody was injured in the accident Saturday morning.

The plane was attempting to land when its landing gear failed, police said. The plane skidded to a rest on the runway and was damaged in the process, police said.

Police said the aircraft was removed from the runway and will be inspected by the FAA, which is investigating the incident.

It was not immediately clear who owns the plane, who was flying it or how many people were on board.
