2 men charged in shooting death of Tennessee 6-year-old

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Two men were arrested in Tennessee on murder charges in the death of a 6-year-old boy who was inside his house getting ready to go to a birthday party, a prosecutor said Friday.

Ronnekio Johnson and James Murphy were arrested Thursday by Memphis police after being indicted in the death of Aison Golden, Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich said in a news release Friday.

Johnson and Murphy, both 27, were charged with first-degree murder, 14 counts of attempted first-degree murder, 14 counts of employment of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, 14 counts of aggravated assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and enhancement of punishment for firearm use in the commission of a felony.

Weirich's office said witnesses reported seeing Johnson and Murphy on April 11 fire shots into at least two homes with more than a dozen children inside or in the yard before the men fled.
