New Hbo Docu-Series Centers On Pahrump Tv News Station

PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) — A TV station in southern Nevada is the subject of an upcoming HBO program.

The cable network announced Tuesday that KPVM-TV in Pahrump will be featured in a six-part, half-hour documentary series.

“Small Town News: KPVM Pahrump” will begin airing Aug. 2.

HBO said in a news release the series follows the independently-owned station and its staff during the months leading up to the 2020 presidential election. It also looks at how the station attempts to think of ways to expand its market.

Pahrump is a small town in the desert roughly 60 miles (97 kilometers) west of Las Vegas.

KPVM is one of 95 independently owned news stations nationwide. It is owned by Vernon Van Wrinkle.
