Tennessee man charged in his aunt's shooting death

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A man who lived with his aunt in Tennessee has been charged with criminal homicide in her shooting death.

News outlets report police took 21-year-old Bobby James Bryant into custody Sunday. Clarksville police spokesman Jim Knoll says officers found 66-year-old Barbara Penrod dead in her home the same day.

The Leaf Chronicle reports court documents show Bryant confessed to the deadly shooting. The outlet says the arrest warrant states he called 911 and told the dispatcher he shot his aunt and "he was pretty sure she was dead." The warrant also says he told police during questioning that he killed his aunt.

Bryant is in the Montgomery County Jail. It's unclear whether he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
