The Mobile Integrative Navigation Team signed papers Wednesday to buy property it's been leasing so it can have a stable site for a homeless navigation center, emergency weather shelter and future tiny house cluster.

Grants Pass High is planning to offer a boys' volleyball team this spring as part of the Oregon School Activities Association's effort to promote "emerging sports."
Boys' volleyball is a long-time sport in California, but the OSAA just recently proclaimed it an "emerging sport" in Oregon.

A man accused of shooting his girlfriend in the leg with a crossbow was arraigned in a Medford courtroom Wednesday on felony assault and weapons charges.
James Ray Hall, 34, was indicted Tuesday by a Jackson County grand jury in connection with the attack.
Medford police said Hall and his girlfriend were in an argument on Saturday about their relationship ending when he shot her with a crossbow, leaving a bolt 5 inches in her leg.

Most people today know Molly Brown (if at all) from her appearance in the 1997 film blockbuster "Titanic" (portrayed by Kathy Bates), where she achieves fame as a survivor of that tragic 1912 shipwreck.
But Brown, a real-life figure from history, was also a turn-of-the-century hero, a plucky, optimistic do-gooder and progressive political activist who championed women's suffrage and union rights, engaged in charity work for the poor and fought for immigration reform. Read More »
