The Grants Pass City Council voted unanimously Monday to pull proposed city staff raises — including a $59,220 annual pay raise for City Manager Aaron Cubic — from the council's Wednesday night meeting agenda.

The male half of a couple accused of dumping dozens of sick, neglected cats and kittens outside the Rogue Valley Humane Society in Grants Pass was sentenced Monday to 10 days in custody.
Jedediah David Wytcherley, 40, also was placed on one year of unsupervised probation for his guilty plea in Josephine County Circuit Court to a misdemeanor charge of animal abandonment.

"It was brilliantly colorful along Taylor Creek this past fall," said Sheets, who had visited the area with her partner several times to capture the colors and enjoy the quiet.
"This image required a short scramble down the bank and water boots so we could set up our tripods in the creek and compose our shots," she said.
