Alice Diehl of Grants Pass was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Oregon at a competition and ceremony held on Saturday at the headquarters of AllCare Health in Grants Pass.
Diehl, a film and television actress who recently relocated from Southern California, said she loves that Grants Pass is "a town that still shows up no matter what," including being the host city for this year's Ms. Wheelchair Oregon. Read More »

Mazama senior Gabe Nanni scored 14 of his game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Vikings to a 55-43 Skyline Conference boys' basketball win over Hidden Valley on Friday in Murphy.

A motorist accused of hitting another vehicle and not stopping Saturday afternoon near Booth and C streets, then being found with drugs in jail, was lodged on charges of hit-and-run with property damage and supplying contraband.

The Southern Oregon Photographic Association has named the winning images from its February competition.
A total of 95 images were submitted by members, 71 in the electronic image division and 24 prints. All images were judged by club members.
In the electronic imaging division, traditional category, with 49 entries, two images tied for first place: "Phainipepla at Sunset" by Fran Yates and "Sugarbird" by Martin Livingston.
