Supporters of a project to restore and reopen the shuttered chateau at the Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve put out a plea for people to back the project on Thursday, but they don't have an estimated cost or timeline for the massive undertaking.

North Valley's Wyatt Bell scores on a Coquille wild pitch in the fourth inning on Thursday in Merlin. The Knights swept a doubleheader from the Red Devils in dominating fashion, winning 11-1 and 11-0.

North Valley did everything it could to keep its state playoff hopes alive, sweeping Coquille 11-1 and 11-0 in a pair of five-inning Far West League baseball games Thursday in Merlin.
North Valley (12-11, 9-9) struck for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth in the opener to break open a 2-1 game. The Knights tallied five hits in the inning, including a two-run double by Dane Kissel.

The Southern Oregon Photographic Association of Jackson County has named the winners from its monthly competition in May.
A total of 76 electronic images and 29 prints were entered by members.
In the electronic image division, traditional category, with 56 entries, Martin Livingston took first place, with a nearly perfect score of 26 points of a possible 27, for his photo, "Catching Bees."
