The Josephine Community Library District is sounding the alarm about potentially getting evicted from the county government-owned Grants Pass library building, with the county placing library materials in storage.
The voter-approved, independent library district recently made an offer to continue leasing the Grants Pass library building for $1 per year for five years, with a potential five-year extension.
Hidden Valley pitcher Scarlett Gordon winds up and delivers to a Phoenix batter on Friday in Murphy. Gordon was the hard-luck loser in the Mustangs' 3-2 loss to the Pirates, giving up just one earned run in seven innings while striking out 10.

The popular Rogue River Trail and Rainie Falls Trail are back open in time for spring hiking after closing due to damage from torrential rain and landslides in March.

Jason Heald, the new director for the Three Rivers Community Orchestra, leads the ensemble during a rehearsal for its spring concert. The concert will be April 13 at the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center.

Jason Heald may not be a familiar face in the Rogue Valley — yet — but he is certainly no stranger to the Southern Oregon music scene.
The director of music at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Heald also conducts the Umpqua Chamber Orchestra, the Roseburg Concert Chorale and the vocal jazz ensemble, the Umpqua Singers.
He also serves as choir director at First Presbyterian Church of Roseburg and is a substitute double bassist with the Rogue Valley Symphony. Read More »
