Crater's Claire Davenport and North Medford's Kristina Atonio had big days at the Bob Newland Classic track and field meet for freshmen and sophomores Tuesday at Newland Track in Medford.
Davenport won the 200 meters in 27.27 seconds. She also finished first in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 2 inches.
Davenport also ran legs on the Comets' two winning relay teams. She teamed with Cadence Doddington, Sarah Doddington and Kamdyn Johnson in the 4x100 to take first in 51.03.

A man asked for free products at Diamond Cannabis downtown, got upset, came back later and dragged a pole across the frosted windows, causing an estimated $3,000 in damage Friday night. A suspect, 25-year-old Cody Allen Pickle, was arrested Saturday on a charge of first-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and probation violation.

Oregon Cabaret Theatre's 2024 spring thriller "Little Shop of Horrors," opens on Friday.
Loosely based on the original 1960 film, "Little Shop of Horrors" opened on Broadway in 1982, and was followed up with the iconic film in 1986 starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Green and Bill Murray.
Forty years later, the recent revival was awarded Best Musical Revival by Drama Desk and others.
