Thomas Robert Fuerte told anybody who would listen that the only thing he was guilty of in the death of Aleah Aaron was getting rid of her body.

He said it to investigators, and he said it to anybody who visited him or spoke to him in jail while awaiting trial in Josephine County Circuit Court on charges of rape and murder.

Grants Pass fire badly damages shop building

A shop building in Grants Pass was badly damaged in a fire Tuesday night, Grants Pass Fire Rescue said.

The fire was reported at 9:15 p.m. at 355 S.W. Lewis Ave.

The fire department said the shop was badly damaged but there were no injuries to people or pets.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Rural/Metro Fire responded as well.
