ST. LOUIS (AP) — One person died and several others were injured in a spate of four shootings that happened within an hour in St. Louis overnight, police said.
Two people were brought to a hospital after being shot around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday near the Hamilton Heights neighborhood, police said, and one of them later died.
Police said the string of shootings began about an hour earlier in the Grand Center neighborhood just north of St. Louis University, when a man was shot in the face and taken to a hospital.
About 20 minutes later, three people shot in the Near North Riverfront neighborhood showed up at an area hospital for treatment, police said. Within minutes of that shooting, a man was shot in the leg just north of Midtown, officials said.
Police did not immediately release information about suspects in any of the shootings, and the name of the person killed had not been released hours after the shooting.
