ST. LOUIS (AP) — A crash involving six vehicles Monday in St. Louis has injured eight people, authorities said.
The accident occurred near Interstate 70 in the city's North Riverfront neighborhood, according to a tweet from the St. Louis Fire Department.
Police said at least one person had been taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but they had no other immediate updates, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
Dave Modi, who works at the nearby Super 8 motel, said the wreck happened between 11:10 and 11:25 a.m. It appears that a vehicle hit a tractor-trailer and was then rear-ended by a car that caught on fire. Officers pulled some people out of their vehicles, he said.
