Police say suspect in Bethel homicide is in custody

BETHEL, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut have a suspect in custody in connection with a homicide.

Bethel police tell the News-Times that a woman returned to her home on Monday to find her son dead. The woman at first though her son had taken his own life, but responding officers determined that the death was a result of a homicide and a suspect was quickly identified.

Capt. Stephen Pugner said Tuesday the suspect was located and determined to be in the custody of the New Milford police, where he was suspected of committing crimes.

No names were made public and police did not say how the victim died.

The death is still under investigation.
